You do not want to miss what has become a RRCA tradition and an audience favorite. We will see you at the show!

Kristi Roark - Choir Director; Co-Creative Director

Mrs. Roark saw The Sound of Music and Puccini’s Madame Butterfly as a 7th grader and was enthralled with Musicals and Opera from that point on.  She performed in musical theater and opera productions during high school and college, sang in honor choirs, and competed as a soloist in UIL and NATS.  After receiving her BA in Vocal Performance and Choral Conducting from Lamar University, she married Edwin and moved to East Texas where she continued her studies at Stephen F. Austin State University. Over the years she has taught Elementary Music as well as directed Sweepstakes Award Winning Middle School and High School Choirs in both large and small schools. She loves every minute of developing our Creator’s amazing Gift of Song in the hearts of her students. Seeing them shine on stage is one of her greatest joys. In 2017, she was honored to be awarded TAPPS 3A Fine Arts Teacher of the Year.  She has been teaching 4th and 5th grade Music at RRCA since 2014, as well as directing Joyful Sounds and High Call Choirs.  She and Edwin are proud parents of Alexandra, a 2011 RRCA graduate, Benjamin, a 2015 RRCA graduate, and Caleb, an RRCA Senior who will graduate in only a few weeks!  Kristi is extremely thankful that God directed her family’s path to RRCA and gave her such an exceptional team and students to work with.

Brandy Johnson - Choreographer; Co-Creative Director; Development Director

Mrs. Johnson began dancing at the age of 2 and has always considered dancing her first love. Growing up, she danced locally with the Texas Youth Ballet at Austin Dance Academy, with the Austin Conservatory of the Arts and also with the Austin-based professional dance company, Tapestry.  Mrs. Johnson was certified as a Pre-Primary Ballet Teacher through the Royal Academy of Ballet and has taught multiple forms of dance including ballet, jazz, tap, and hip hop, throughout her life. She has collaborated with Mrs. Roark on the previous five Spring Shows and is honored to be the sole choreography for this year’s show again. Mrs. Johnson also directs The Dance Cru, RRCA's first ever dance team, and took home the State Championship at TAPPS in 2019 .Outside of the world of dance, Mrs. Johnson has been an RRCA parent since 2003 and is in her 12th year of employment at the school. She is currently the Development Director, coaches the award-winning Varsity Cheer Team and directs the YELL CRU.   Mrs. Johnson has been married to her high school sweetheart, Chris, for 24 years and they have three kids - Jace, a 2016 RRCA graduate, Savannah, a freshman  and Juliet, a 4th grader - both here at RRCA. She thanks God for the gift of dance, the opportunity to work alongside Kristi Roark as well as the entire cast of both musicals.

  Michelle Tweden - Development Coordinator

This is Mrs. Tweden’s second year in the Development Office, but definitely not her first year of being involved with RRCA events, fundraisers, classrooms, teachers and teams!  If there is a need at the school, Mrs. Tweden is right there, ready to assist in any way she can. The Tweden family joined RRCA in 2003 with the kindergarten enrollment of their daughter Madeline, a 2016 RRCA graduate, and continues still with 11th grade son Matthew.  She is currently a Development Coordinator along with being the Speech & Debate Team Mom.  Mrs. Tweden is grateful for the various opportunities to serve at RRCA and for the lifelong friendships which were born from the amazing community that is Round Rock Christian Academy.
